This is a slide show so be patient and you will see ALL the photos......
The slide show begins with Tamarac's birth April 9, 1987 and progresses through her lifetime - training as a 2 & 3 year old, showing and raising babies.
Tamarac raised 10 babies for me. Seven of these are fillies and they are all trained reining horses. One colt, Wildwood Badger is unsound but is standing at stud in Manitoba, Wildwood Eagle will begin reining training in 2006 and her last baby, Wildwood Courage is only a weanling, but hopefully will follow in the footsteps of his sisters and brothers.
Tamarac's first daughter, Wildwood Destiny, has produced four fillies. Another daughter, Wildwood Harmony produced a fabulous filly in 2005 named Wildwood Splendor.
This mare was a gold mine. She consistantly produced talented offspring from different stallions. I lost her in November of 2005. See below.

Tamarac 1987-2005

On November 10, 2005, I lost the senior mare of Wildwood Reining Horses, my beloved Tamarac. She was only 18 years old. Throughout the year, Tamarac fought cancer while raising her final foal, Wildwood Courage. She rests now with her mother and grandmother under the apple tree on my property. When Tamarac was born I thought she was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. She was no less beautiful in her final days. Tamarac has raised for me 10 fine foals - nine are showcased in the slide show at the left of the page. The 10th is Wildwood Courage, her 2005 colt. Five of Tamarac's fillies reside at Wildwood still. She also has five granddaughters - yes, all mares! The dynasty lives! Goodbye, sweet maid................... |
