A colt for Tamarac

April 12, 2007 - The first Wildwood baby has arrived on my new property in the Chilcotin! Poco Easter Lena delivered a handsome sorrel colt who looks remarkably like his sire, Whiz N Tag Chex.   Whiz N Tag Chex, owned by the Griffin family, is credited with  40 AQHA points and over $100,000 NRHA earnings; Easter, though not shown due to injury, is sired by Lena My Way, AQHA point earner and NCHA money earner. ($20,578) Her dam earned 75 AQHA points in events ranging from western pleasure and trail to hunter under saddle to reining and cowhorse.

With names like Topsail Whiz, Smart Little Lena and King Fritz in his pedigree, Wildwood Chilko is bred for working cowhorse or reining.

Easter was considerate enough to foal in mid day since I do not have a barn or outside lights. I had not yet finished the "broodmare pen" but the arena worked just fine. He was supposed to be grey filly!

Wildwood Chilko is now owned by Jody McCulloch, Edmonton Alberta.
