Ma Dear (Duchess) - foundation mare

    Born: April 10, 1966   Died: October 17, 2002

    Foals: Coteau Coquette, Coteau Cajun Pas, Wildwood Majesty, Wildwood Mahogany, High Class Sip, Wildwood Willow, Wildwood Hickory

 Duchess is the foundation mare of my broodmares and lived to the ripe old age of 36. Her last few years were spent happily in the company of her descendents. I did the video at right for her 35th birthday party.    It includes footage from Super 8 movie in 1968 as well as a number of stills used to create the story of her life. Click here for video.

Wildwood Mahogany - foundation mare

   Born: 1980        Died: January 9, 2004

   Foals: Wildwood Tamarac, Wildwood Tyson, Wildwood Boots, Wildwood Adobe Dunit

   I bought Mahogany back in 1999 after many years absence. She is sired by a stallion I owned for many years and of course is the daughter of my beloved Duchess. 

Wildwood Tamarac - foundation mare

    Born: April 9, 1987    Died: November 10, 2005

    Foals: Wildwood Destiny, Wildwood Kokanee,  Wildwood Promise, Wildwood Whisperin, Wildwood Harmony, Wildwood Soul O Silk, Wildwood Badger, Wildwood Champagne, Wildwood Eagle, Wildwood Courage

I lost Tamarac November 2005 to a very rare form of skin cancer. She leaves a legacy of fine reining horses, several of which will be joining the brood mare band.

Wildwood Destiny - foundation mare   

Born: April 20, 1993    Died: July 12, 2012

Destiny is my foundation bred mare. Her foals are always well-proportioned with big hips and kind dispositions. They are very trainable, like people and like to perform.

Wildwood Whisperin - broodmare

Born: April 25, 1997         Died: November 9, 2012

Whisper is a great addition to my brood mares. She carries on the dynasty started with Duchess, as Destiny and Harmony have done; she has over $9000 reining earnings and she is a spectacular mare. Her only foal to date is in training for Working Cowhorse futurities in 2012 and, if all goes as planned, will be competing in Reno in the fall. Wildwood Splash, now owned by Julie Wilson, is a star! Very exciting!

Wildwood Harmony - brood mare   

Born: May 5, 1998

Harmony is fully trained but only lightly shown. Alberta Sire and Dam Maturity Champion. She is extremely quiet and kind, easy to show.

Peppy Del Cielo - brood mare

Born: April 25, 1999

Prima (unshown due to injury) is rapidly making a name for herself as a broodmare. Running With Wolves entered the reining pen in 2008 and has NRHA and other earnings; Wildwood Liberty slid to Reinin In The Sun 3 yr old Futurity Championship and Goldrush Futurity Reserve Championship in 2009; Walking With Wolves is in training for 2010 futurities. Her 2009 filly no doubt will follow in her brothers' footsteps. They are all extremely talented, extremely pretty and built to rein!

Poco Easter Lena - broodmare

Born: April 23, 2000

I acquired Easter in November 2005, a welcome addition to my brood mare band. Easter is unshown due to injury but her sire, Lena My Way, has NCHA LTE of over $20,000, has qualified twice for the AQHA World show and has earned AQHA Performance Register of Merit. Her dam has 75 AQHA points in open and amateur performance events - reining, cowhorse, western pleasure, trail, western riding, hunter under saddle, halter and all around.
